Food Therapy
Hippocrates said, “Let medicine be your food and food be your medicine.”
We often trust that the pet food we purchase at the store is safe and healthy for our pets. But just like people, different pets have different nutritional needs. We strongly encourage our clients to look into ingredients in your pets diet.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, humans and animals have 5 personality types; water, wood, fire, earth, and metal. Finding and adding whole foods that fit your pets personality type and medical needs can really make a difference in their daily lives. and help increase their longevity in life!
We strongly recommend Home-Cooking or feeding Raw, depending on your pets needs. Not every pet should eat the same diet, and while feeding raw may work well for one pet, it may not be the best fit diet for every pet. After your pet’s initial exam and during your consultation with Dr. Cichra, we are happy to make diet recommendations for your pet’s unique needs. We include a food formulation guide in our new client folder that will help get your pet started if Home-Cooking or Raw feeding sounds like it may work for you and your pet!
If Home-Cooking and Raw feeding aren’t something you are interested in, we are happy to make food recommendations that are safe and healthy for your pets.
