Equines
Dr. Cichra began her veterinary career as an equine vet. She has a soft spot for horses and they are her favorite animals to treat.
At Holistic Vet Care, we offer all of the wonderful services we have available for our small companion animals as we do our equine patients! Horses are very responsive to TCVM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and many western medicine practicing veterinarians agree that treatments like Acupuncture, Chiropractic, and Chinese Herbs are the Gold Standard for treating several common horse concerns. For example, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs are the most effective treatments for non sweating horses. Sweating is an important way that horses expel toxins and cool themselves off. Florida is notoriously hot, especially in the summer and when a horse stops sweating it can be very dangerous. We also recommend Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs for our horses who suffer from several other chronic concerns such as chronic colic, asthma, cushing’s disease, and many more. Dr. Cichra went to the Chi Institute where she furthered her postgraduate education in Veterinary Acupuncture and TCVM. Dr. Cichra also went to The Healing Oasis Wellness Center to complete her holistic education and become certified in Veterinary Chiropractic. With Dr. Cichra’s advanced knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the horse, she is able to precisely target her treatments to your horse’s unique concerns. Her Chiropractic adjustments are gentle and effective treatments for several concerns such as arthritis, neurological concerns, performance horse maintenance and more.
